After School Movies gets kids out of the house and learning to make movies! Kids collaborate to write, direct, produce, and act in their own short films. Each 2-hour session produces a complete film involving all students!
After School Movies is guided by award-winning filmmaker Rafael Friedan, who is a former schoolteacher and camp counselor. Rafael spent his summers as a camp counselor in the Hamptons. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, he taught school before venturing out west to try his hand at movies. Rafael’s first feature film won Best Comedy Feature at both the New York City Independent Film Festival and the Twin Tiers International Film Festival.
Rafael is back from Los Angeles and has founded After School Movies to serve kids whose after school activities have been canceled due to the pandemic!
